About Le Garage Winery

Sharon Taylor
Vintner

I used to joke with my work friends about my retirement plan being driving around in an old VW bus and selling wine and antiques. Fast forward to today and here I am selling wine from Ivy, my VW Bus.

Many years ago, I wanted to make wine for gifts but found that it needed to stay in the barrel for at least a year, so I began brewing beer instead. A few years later I was invited to make wine in a club and from there my passion for winemaking led me to blogging about amateur winemaking and quickly grew to a garagiste style winery.

The goal of Le Garage Winery is to stay small and make quality wines.

More about Le Garage Winery

  • Late Summer 2020 - I made the decision to move from amateur winemaking to professional winemaking.

    … leap of faith!

  • I purchased barrels, equipment and grapes.

  • With friends and family together we sorted through grapes

  • Once sorted, the grapes are dumped into the crusher destemmer.

  • The next two weeks are a myriad of testing, punching down, and monitoring fermentation.

  • When fermentation is complete we gather again to press the skins and pump the wine into the barrels.

  • Late Summer 2021 - Le Garage has come a long way in a year!
